You begin at the beginning. I've spent my life studying history and anthropology. I enjoy knowing how things started. I carry that love of origins into every aspect of my design projects. You must know where a company first started in order to know where it must be taken in the future. Even when designing for a new brand from the ground up, you must study its origins to get it where it needs to go.
This is the way I begin all my design work. How can you know where you are going if you do not know where you have been?
Growing up exposed to the printing world, I was always fascinated by design and how it affects the world around us. You cannot walk down a street without being exposed to graphic design in some way, starting with the simplicity of a street sign all the way to the massive billboards for companies such as Apple and GAP.
I have recently finished my BFA in Graphic Design at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA. My strengths are within packaging design, identity design, and promotional pieces. Working for a branding firm over the last few months as a Junior Designer, I have gained some experience in advertising, as well as furthering my client relations. I have had the opportunity to present my designs to real world clients. My other responsibilites have been contributing to brainstorming sessions, listening to the needs and strategies of the clients, as well as making sure we stay on brand with our designs. As a side hobby and job I also have had several years experience with my parent's letterpress shop desiging for them.
